Greater Niagara General Site is a 184-bed facility serving a catchment area of approximately 85,000 people in Niagara Falls and surrounding communities, with general, emergency and specialty care. Inpatient acute care, mental health and complex continuing care beds are sited here, and Greater Niagara General Site features the Regional Stroke Management Program, the inpatient and outpatient Geriatric Assessment Unit, as well as an Ontario Breast Screening Centre. A leading-edge CT Unit and MRI were installed here in 2005. A new 18,600 sq. ft. Emergency Department opened in January 2007 and a new Ambulatory Care Centre and expanded front entrance opened in 2008. Greater Niagara General Site has 102 active physicians, 33 of them in general practice and the others in specialty areas.
