Welland Hospital Site is a 187-bed facility serving a catchment area of approximately 70,000 people in Welland, Pelham, Wainfleet, as well as surrounding communities, with general and specialty care. In addition to offering inpatient acute care, mental health and complex continuing care beds, Welland Hospital Site owns and operates a 115-bed Extended Care (long-term care) Unit, attached to the hospital. A new satellite Dialysis Unit opened in 2008 and an Emergency Department and Ambulatory Care Centre offer care in a state-of-the-art environment. The Site is a location of the Ontario Breast Screening Program. Welland Hospital Site has 78 active physicians, 27 of them in general practice and the others in specialty areas.
